Kids Can Quilt Too!

Students from Lynn Wheatley's Kids Can Quilt Too VQF 2019 Class

Lynn Wheatley’s passion is quilting and brings her personal touch of patience, organization, and encouraging style to the classroom to teach our younger quilters. In 2017, Lynn retired from the Vermont Quilt Festival Board of Directors and offered to develop a class to teach our youth to quilt. These quilts are from the 2019 Kids Can Quilt Too class, ages 9 – 12. The beginner quilter, with their supporting adults, are provided with all supplies for the quilt; they are just required to bring their own sewing machine and general sewing supplies. The quilt is designed by Lynn using the Vermont Quilt Festival decorating fabrics that are donated by QT Fabrics. To finish off the quilt, longarm quilting is donated by Lynn, as well. The kit provided has all material cut to size so in class the young quilter is ready to learn the basics of quilting: pinning, stitching, pressing, block construction, etc. We invite you to celebrate the achievements of these incredible youth quilters!
