Chickens have often found their way into the quilt world — small wonder given the astonishing variety of plumage in chicken breeds. Among the most memorable poultry quilts are the charming chickens and roosters (and turkeys and ducks) created by Ruth McDowell. Join us in poultry pieceing to celebrate these barnyard wonders! In this class, you will select from several patterns to create your chicken wall hanging. A brief discussion introduces the methods and techniques of freezer paper templates. You will then prepare a freezer paper template for your chicken pattern, and begin the process of selecting fabrics for your design. We will also discuss sewing methods and sewing order to complete your wallhanging.
Instructor: Ann P. Shaw
Kit fees are listed within the VQF Class Brochure and within class descriptions on the VQF website. Kit fees are due at the time of class and are to be paid directly to the instructor. Kit fees are not apart of the class price or registration fee.
