Rosalind Daniels — Bold Abstractions:
A Life In Patterns

A Life In Patterns

Rosalind Daniels first entered the Vermont Quilt Festival thirty years ago, creating original designs and using vibrant colors from the beginning.  Considering herself a recovering mathematician, Roz employs simple geometric shapes, especially rectangles and circles, to create original patterns.

The bold fabric choices in this exhibit were inspired by the op art designs of the 1970s, by the vibrant colors worn in the tropics, by the seasons of Vermont and by the design esthetic of Scandinavia. The abstractions she has created are intended to honor these unusual fabrics by creating new patterns in conversation with other textiles
