SAQA: Artists Choice

Quilts as Art: A sampling of art quilts created by Northern New England SAQA (Studio Art Quilt Associates) members provides a glimpse into the variety of styles, techniques and approaches being used by the region’s quilt artists.

Artists were asked, “Do you have a favorite among your art quilts? A piece that represents you as an artist?” Artists chose which piece to submit for this showcase of work. 

While all meeting the SAQA definition of an art quilt, “a creative visual work that is layered and stitched or that references this form of stitched layered structure,” there is a wide variety of materials and techniques used in these original artworks.
